Heart of the Empire

I thought that I’d put a post up today to give a shoutout to an excellent game I’m playing in at the moment, the ‘Heart of the Empire’ game GMed by Michael Lashambe, it’s a Star Wars game (run under the auspices of the Tides of Change group) using the Age of Rebellion rules from Fantasy Flight Games. In it we play a motley cell of rebels who had just arrived on the Hoth garrison shortly before the famous Imperial attack (as seen in the movie Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back), without any idea of where the rebel fleet was meeting, we stolen a Lambda class shuttle and fled the system, heading to the nearest rebel base that we knew of.

The adventures have continued from there with us becoming embroiled in a plot to take down an Imperial base on the planet Bestine, only to discover that one of us may be a deep-cover Imperial agent (think Total Recall).

We’ve just completed the third session which saw some great gaming by everyone involved and some fantastic GM-ing from Mike, everyone seems to be getting a bit more used to the rules systems and each others styles of gaming, so the sessions are going a lot more smoothly. The game runs early in the morning for me due to timezones (it takes place about 2am UK time) but I think it’s well worth getting up early/staying up for since we have a great GM and group of players. After some discussion with Mike I’ve pretty much just blown all of my XP and can’t wait for the next session.

I’ve set up a page where I’m going to add the actual play videos from these sessions to a playlist, you can access it by clicking here.

  1. From what I’ve seen from just jumping around through the session videos, it looks like a good time!! I can’t imagine playing a game at 2 a.m. anymore.

    1. It does take a very early night before hand and a lot of energy drinks, but it’s definitely worth it for the game in question 🙂

We love hearing what you think, however any spam or abusive posts will be ruthlessly removed and deleted, as will those that ramble off topic.
