We’ve all been in that position from time to time when you run a game session that you don’t feel is up to your best standards, this could be for any number of reasons, you might be tired or have other things going on that serve to distract you from running the game.
I often get people asking me about making notes or prep for role-playing sessions and it’s been something I’ve been thinking about for a while, I’m always torn between making notes in session and making them afterwards. I record my sessions partly because I can watch them back and update notes, this can obviously take […]
We’ve recently wrapped up the Rebel Strike Trilogy, a linked series of three sessions using the FFG Age of Rebellion Star Wars rules set in my Adventures on the Outer Rim version of the Star Wars universe, I’m going to gather all of the material about it in this post. Cast Kaid-Sen: A dour sharpshooter working for the […]
Last night we reached the climax of our trilogy, where our Inquisitors pursued a Jedi to the Hutt planet of Varda VI; attempting to retain diplomatic relations whilst bringing down a rebel insurrection; an epilogy video was uploaded this morning, you can now see the complete trilogy from start to finish:
Just finished running the first session of our Red Hand of the Empire trilogy, our players portraying a cell of four Imperial Inquisitors called the Red Hand, trained by Lord Vade himself. Very enjoyable game to run, thanks to the players involved, looking forward to the next session 🙂
Sam posted in the Tide of Change group saying that it would be useful to see how some of the GMs prepare for their sessions, so over the course of the weekend I’ve maded this video outlining the process that I go through to create a Star Wars one-shot.
A few people in the Tides of Change facebook community have asked about playing darkside character (especially with the release of Force & Destiny) and, whilst in a normal Star Wars game, I don’t really think that characters to embrace the darkside fully have a place it did get me thinking about how a short-term […]
I really enjoyed running my recent Edge of the Empire one-shot Graveyard Shift, the players were great and it seemed to be really well received, this has lead to me planning two additional one-shot, one of which is an Age of Rebellion game where a small Y-Wing squadron attempts to free a prisoner with vital […]
Just ran a very enjoyable session of Edge of the Empire for a group of great players (most of whom I’ve not had the pleasure of gaming with before), the session was titled ‘Graveyard Shift’ and focussed on a group of smugglers who had been hired to take some colonists on a pilgrimage to the […]
I’ve been scouting around the internet and have come across the following excellent random NPC generator created by Peter Thompson; it lets you generate random NPCs that can be exported in an XML format suitable for use with Oggdude’s Character Generator. This will definitely be useful and is something I intend to use in future. http://thompsonpeters.com/eote/misc/NPCgen/
