Random Things you might find in a treasure trove

These random things articles are designed as quick idea generators for time-pressed GMs who want to inject some additional details into their game, in this article we look at items of interest adventurers might find in a treasure trove.

When you need some inspiration just roll a D20 and consult the table:

1A small statue of a man with an eye in the centre of his forehead (worth 1d10 x 10 GP)
2A red coloured gemstone that changes to a deep purple colour when it catches the light (worth 2d4 x 10 GP).
3The preserved skin of a strange animal (worth 1d10 x 10 GP).
4Three bolts of a luxurious satin-like cloth (worth 3d6 x 10 GP).
5A silver ring inscribed with strange sigils (worth 1d10 x 100 GP).
62d20 gold coins depicting the emperor of some ancient and long forgotten empire (worth 1 GP per coin although possibly more to a collector/historian).
71d4 silver trade bars (worth 50 GP each).
8A golden circlet inlaid with precious stones (worth 1d6 x 1000 GP).
9A small model ship that, when placed on water, always points towards the location of the real ship it is linked to, currently wrecked off the coast.
10An ancient copper bell that sounds musically when rung (worth 10 GP).
11A faded oil painting depicting an ancient monarch overlooking his kingdom (worth 4d6 x 100 GP).
12A fairly detailed map of the local area, depicting some hazards and danger areas (worth 25 GP).
133d6 large golden triangular coins (worth 2 GP each).
14A darkwood longstaff with the head carved intricately to resemble a dragon with snarling most (worth 5 SP for basic staff, more if magical).
15A neatly stacked pile of 2d6 cannonballs (5 GP each).
161d4 barrels of rum (2 SP each).
17A small doll that appears to have been pierced numerous times with 1d4 silver pins (1 CP for the doll, 1 SP each for the pins).
18The preserved and stuffed head of a gnoll.
19A small dagger that seems cold to the touch, steam rises from it (worth approx 400 GP).
20A knapsack that magically (and seemingly randomly) changes the colour of anything placed within it (worth approx 50 GP).
