Tales from the Man Cave – Geek Blog

Tales from the Man Cave is a geeky blog run by a friend of mine Jason Marden, a haven for all things geek related including boardgames, miniatures wargames and RPGs. Jase has a wide variety of posts on his blog including news and revies on the games that he plays.

In Jason’s own words:

“Hi, I’m Jase.  I’m just a regular guy who likes to buy and play boardgames and wargames and this is my blog.  I am by no means an expert in any of this but what I am is enthusiastic and keen.  Along with my long time bro-mance and partner-in-crime Tris Taylor I also run The Hairy Gamers FB page.

I’m a *ahem* 30 something (!?) year old gamer of all kinds from Coventry in the UK. I’ve been in the hobby since 95-96 and when it comes to wargaming I’m mostly into the gaming part as my painting/converting skills have suffered as a result of doing not very much for about 16-17 years.  This is mostly due the fact that my friends interest in the hobby has waxed and waned from time to time, I’ve moved around a lot for work and I haven’t been able to play as much as I would have liked.  I’m now also a father to two wonderful little girls so the the hobby time is sparse at best. But I try my best anyway to play games, paint and write posts on my blog and I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I play all sorts of games but at the time of starting this blog my main interests are GW’s non-core and community supported Blood Bowl and Necromunda, PRODOS’ AvP The Hunt Begins and Wizkids Star Trek Attack Wing.  I will be sharing my experiences of all of the above on this blog from ideas and rules to scenery and terrain building to gaming/battle reports.

I will also be doing de-boxing of new stuff that I buy and get given.

Since beginning this blog I’ve also started to play FFG’s Star Wars X-Wing and picked up some Cybertronic for PRODOS’ Warzone Resurrection.

Lastly I’m also an avid CCG’er playing Star Trek TNG CCG 1e and a big LARPer.  I currently crew and play Profound Decisions Empire game and play Outcast with my daughter, Grace.

So whether you are a gamer or just wandering around and wondering what this is all about please feel free to follow this blog and comment.  If you have any suggestions or want to see any particular content please feel free to make requests.”

If you’re into your miniatures gaming or boardgames I highly recommend that you give the blog a look.
